In the aftermath of the devastating earthquakes in Turkiye and Syria, several fashion brands have stepped up to provide aid and support to the affected areas. Inditex, H&M Group and the non-profit H&M Foundation, Amazon and Kering are some of the companies that have made significant contributions to the relief efforts.

Inditex has donated €3 million to the Red Crescent to support relief efforts after earthquakes in Turkiye and Syria. In addition to financial aid, Inditex has provided 500,000 outerwear products to aid organisations and has funded the Doctors Without Borders emergency unit to help identify and address medical needs of victims. The Turkish Red Crescent has deployed personnel and equipment to affected areas in Turkiye and is providing basic necessities, supporting search and rescue, and offering psychosocial assistance, the company said in a statement.

H&M Group is working with local teams to assess the needs and have donated $100,000 to the Turkish organisation AFAD, as well as $500,000 from the H&M Foundation to the Red Cross/Red Crescent and Save the Children for their relief efforts. H&M is also donating winter garments as a priority for the earthquake victims. The company said in a press note that it remains committed to supporting the local communities.

The Kering group of brands, including Gucci, Saint Laurent, Bottega Veneta, and others, is donating to the International Committee of the Red Cross to support relief efforts in the aftermath of the earthquake.

“In response to the emergency situation following earthquake in southern Turkiye and northern Syria, the Kering family of brands is coming together to provide support to the thousands of people affected by the earthquake. Kering and all its Houses stand in solidarity with the victims and their families,” Kering said in a statement.

E-commerce giant Amazon is also providing support to organisations responding to the earthquake in the two affected countries. The company has committed $500,000 in cash donations to non-profit organisations providing critical support in the affected areas. These organisations include Red Crescent, World Food Program, Save the Children, and UNICEF. Amazon is also providing product donations and logistics support in the region. The company has already shipped donated goods, including blankets, tents, heaters, food, diapers, baby food, medicine, and other emergency items, and continues to field requests for winter survival equipment, clothing, hygiene products, and other items, as per a press release by Amazon.
