The rise in the country’s e-commerce logistics index is a reversal of the trend of contraction that lasted for three consecutive months. Out of the nine major sub-indices measuring e-commerce logistics activities in different fields, eight recorded growth last month. Business volume and rural business sub-indices recorded 2.1 points and 2.6 points growth, respectively, from the previous month, according to a joint survey by the China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing and e-commerce platform JD.com.
The survey also projected that the index will continue to rise in February 2023 because of the Chinese economy’s evident pick-up and favourable prospects. The data suggests a positive outlook for e-commerce logistics activities in China in the upcoming months, local media reports said.
Overall, the data reveals that China’s e-commerce logistics activities are on the path of recovery after a few months of contraction. The steady growth in the major sub-indices points to a thriving national e-commerce sector. The forecast for further growth in February 2023 indicates that this trend is likely to continue.
