Profit before tax (excluding an exceptional income of ₹6.05 crore from sale of building on leasehold land) was ₹349.0 crore compared to ₹28.6 crore in the second quarter and ₹50.8 crore in the previous quarter. Starting the current financial year, the company has taken ESOP charge of ₹6 crore in each quarter, excluding which the profit before tax was ₹55.0 crore.
The company reported net profit (excluding an exceptional income of ₹6.05 crore) of ₹39.8 crore in the current quarter and generated an EBITDA of ₹371.9 crore compared to ₹53.9 crore in the second quarter and ₹74.3 crore in the first quarter. The EBITDA margin of the current quarter was 12.5 per cent, up by 0.4 per cent over the previous year and the previous quarter.
“We are pleased with our revenue and profit growth in the second quarter, despite it being a seasonally weak quarter and encountering a challenging global macro-economic environment,” Siva Ganapathi, managing director, said.
