ITAMMA in association with “B K Mehta Endowment Fund” Presents 3rd in Series B K Mehta Technology Networking Mission” on July 06, 2024; at i- Hub, Ahmedabad, Gujarat
Mr ND Mhatre, director general(Tech), ITAMMA introduced the Event flow to the ITAMMA members, Students and the industry experts and mentioned that this event will be helping Indian Textile Engineering Industry to develop their technological set-up and bringing on the surface the talent and the low-cost technologies available with the Students.
Mr Bhavesh Patel, president, ITAMMA mentioned that this Networking Mission will give an opportunity to Students from different Textile Institutes to interact with the Industry Experts, Industrialists/ Stakeholders and Govt. Bodies from Textile Engineering and Textile Industry and assist them with the information for implementing their Projects / innovations under various Govt. schemes.
Details of the Event
1st session - Hybrid mode (live streamed to You Tube) and was open to all.
The event opened with the screening of a short documentary about the history of the trustee, Mr. BK Mehta.
Thereafter Industry experts Dr Chandan Chatterjee: Director, Evox System Pvt. Ltd, Ahmedabad & Dr. Ashwin Thakkar: Textile Consultant, Ahmedabad emphasized the importance of innovation-driven technological advancements, cost-effectiveness, and sustainable growth in the textile industry. They also highlighted the significance of efficient textile manufacturing practices, citing inspiration from China.
2nd Session- physical session for students and experts present at the venue whereby 3 students who were shortlisted from the following colleges presented their innovative projects to the expert’s panel.
1. DKTE Abstract 1
Project –“ Design and Development of Protective Wear for Manual
Scavengers” was presented by –Mr. Omkar G Jangale where he explained about the advanced protective wear tailored for manual scavengers to enhance safety and comfort in hazardous environments.
2. DKTE Abstract 2
Project – “Automatic Fabric Inspection System with The Aid Of Ai was presented by – Mr. Swapnil Dattatray Khandekar, where he explained about the Development of AI- powered automatic fabric inspection system to enhance quality control and efficiency in textile manufacturing”.
3. R.N.G. Patel Institute of Technology, Surat, Gujarat- Abstract 3
Project – “Design of Crawler Robot to Measure Thickness of Metallic Tank” was presented by – Mr. Harshal Patel & Mr. Kenilkumar Chaudhari explained about the development of a crawler robot capable of accurately measuring the thickness of metallic tanks to ensure structural integrity and safety.
4. PSG College of Technology, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu Abstract 4
Project – Development of Heating Pad Using Conductive Polymer
Coating on Bamboo Fabric which was presented by – Ms. B.J. Sneha, who said that this project is an attempt to study the extraction process and properties of fibers extracted from bamboo plants.
3rd Session - Hybrid (live streamed to You Tube) & Open to all.
All the experts present gave feedback to the students on how to take their projects to the next stage—
