AMANN officially opens its first production plant in India in Ranipet/Tamil Nadu. AMANN has been represented in India since 2007 with sales offices in Chennai, Bengaluru and Gurgaon. The company has now taken its business one step further and started to manufacture its products in India, primarily for the India market.

Peter Morgalla, Member of the AMANN Board of Management and Chairman of AMANN India, said: “We are very proud to put this plant into operation. We have closed the gap and are now able to offer our customers a comprehensive network of sales offices, delivery options and short lead times throughout Asia. Moreover, we will also provide Technical Advisory Services for our customers to exploit the full potential of our products.”

• Location: Ranipet/Vellore in Tamil Nadu within the “leather belt”

• Product scope: high quality sewing and embroidery threads for leather and apparel applications

• Production site space: 32,000 square metres

Not a Single Drop of Wastewater Into the Ground

The investment into its new production site reflects AMANN’s serious commitment towards the environment. The latest production technologies reduce the amount of wastewater to a minimum.

Sustainability Profile of the New Plant:

• Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) purifying 100 per cent of the extracted water

• Energy supply from 100 per cent renewable sources

By using ZLD, all extracted water remains in a closed cycle system. Only 9 per cent of fresh water needs to be replenished due to evaporation.

Energy demand is mostly covered by a comprehensive photovoltaic system, additional demand is supplied by a nearby wind and solar park. The boiler for steam production, important for the dyeing process of the threads, operates with biomass.
