ThredUp
In 2009, James Reinhart, co-founder and CEO, discovered he had a closet full of unused clothes. Buffalo Exchange

Partnering with her husband Spencer, who handled the store’s logistics, they transformed a small space into a bustling business known for affordable and stylish clothing. Despite limited fashion industry experience, their commitment to principles like fairness and respect fuelled the store’s growth. Over the decades, Buffalo Exchange expanded across the US, championing sustainable fashion and empowering customers, particularly women. After 50 years, Kerstin retired in 2024, passing leadership to her daughter Rebecca Block.
