Abstract
Clothing - that responds to the environmentalchanges and adapt accordingly to make the wearer comfort - are a long timechallenge to the textile engineers. Integrating various material sciences withtextiles have yielded many tailor made intelligent textile structures. Thispaper is concerned about the application of phase change materials into thethermal comfort regulation of textile clothing. Materials that are capable ofstoring and dissipating heat energy at their unique conditions are identifiedand the same could cope up with textile fibrous materials have beensuccessfully implemented by a variety of techniques like micro encapsulation,coating etc. These integrated structures perform the action of either absorbingor releasing heat to keep the person in comfort. This paper elaborates theirspecified background of successful integration and implementation that serveits best to the customer concerned.
