Introduction


This cluster is known for its stoles, scarves & Eri Silkdress materials and Home Furnishings. It is located in South Kamrup District ofAssam, an area where handlooms have been quite a dominant sector as a means ofliving. This area has a concentration of Eri hand loom weaving units. The cityof Guwahati is just 30kms away from this cluster and there are abundantvillages in and about the area where Eri weaving is the main function.
