Themed 'Innovating the World ofTextiles', the 18th edition of ITMA concluded in Barcelona, Spain on June 26.Many technologies were launched, ranging from 3D weaving and knitting tohi-tech nonwovens processes, sustainable chemicals and state-of-the-artgarment-making technologies, and wide range of software-powered automationsolutions. ITMA 2019 featured technologies including those that leverage theInternet of Things (IoT) by 1717 exhibitors from 45 countries
Intex South Asia 2019 hosts 220suppliers & 3,900 buyers
The5th edition of Intex South Asia was held in December at the SirimavoBandaranaike Memorial Exhibition Centre (BMICH) in Colombo, Sri Lanka. The3-day fair connected 3,900 international buyers from 20 countries with 220suppliers from over 13 countries showcasing yarns, apparel fabrics, denimfabrics, accessories and allied services, dyes & chemicals. The show rampedup not only in terms of new pavilions, but also added categories such as theDyes and Chemicals Zone which added more depth to the show. Overall, there was20 per cent growth recorded in the buyers' footfall and 15 per cent increase inexhibitors as compared to last year.

Centrestage 2019 attracts 7,000 buyers
About 240 fashion brands from 23 countries showcased their latest fashion brands and designer collections from Asia and around the world, at the 2019 edition of Asia's premier fashion event, Centrestage. The event, organised by Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), attracted close to 7,000 buyers from 74 countries. Those from Europe and Latin America recorded growth, reinforcing the show as an international promotional and launching platform for fashion brands. Redress Design Award and the 9th Hong Kong Young Knitwear Designers' Contest were held during the event to nurture more budding talents.
