Eltex began life in Sweden more than 60 years ago when the company’s co-founders set about solving a problem that had created difficulties for the textile industries for as long as it had been mechanized. They wanted to find a way of detecting broken or missing weft yarn in a shuttle weaving machine. The result was the development of the world’s first electronic weft stop motion sensor. The invention debuted at the ITMA exhibition in 1963, and Eltex was founded the following year in Sweden to manufacture these revolutionary products.
Eltex is a world leader in yarn break sensors and yarn tension monitoring systems on textiles to improve the quality of fabrics, including technical textiles, carpets, and artificial grass, making the overall manufacturing process much more efficient. In addition, Eltex of Sweden has been researching and developing technologies that enable weavers to increase output volumes and minimise errors. This has allowed manufacturers to increase production capacity and reduce waste. We offer our technology and applications of our sensors in different fields of the textile industry by monitoring every single yarn, either in the form of yarn breakage or by monitoring tension and or controlling the yarn tension in real-time. This improves the quality, machine efficiency and cost efficiency and reduce waste of material and maintenance. This all together result in relief for the machine operator.
We are proud to present our new developments of the EyETM sensor for multiple yarns. This sensor is available in 1, 8, 10 or 12 eyelet versions with 300 cN or 600 cN tension range.
EyETM is developed to display the tension of individual yarns in real-time on an external screen with stop and warning levels set beforehand. If the values come out of range the system gives a warning or stops the machine. It works as a yarn break detection and yarn tension monitoring system for making quality beams. You are invited to view the EyETM in action on our demo machine.
Eltex has a good presence in technical textiles and our Eltex yarn expert (EYE) system proved beneficial for the technical fabrics. Our customers use the yarns Nomex, Kevlar, Spandex, Glass, Carbon, etc. Eltex sensors are used in Agrotech, Meditech, Buildtech, Mobiltech, Clothtech, Oekotech, Geotech, Packtech, Hometech, Protech, Indutech and Sportech.
Due to our sensors’ quality, performance and durability, millions of Eltex sensors perform in more than 120 countries for many textile applications. Furthermore, the textile industry can take full advantage of the technology and experience of Eltex using intelligent sensor technologies for their benefit.
Eltex of Sweden is an international company, and we keep our headquarters aligned with our overseas operations. Thanks to our sales & service office Eltex U.S. Inc., in the city of Greer S.C., we are present in all the countries in North America. We cover Central and South America through our network of resellers and representatives. In the rest of the continents, we are well represented in more than 40 countries. However, our primary markets are the US, Canada, Mexico, the UK, Belgium, the Netherlands, France, Germany, Spain, Italy, Australia, New Zeeland, India, Japan and South Korea.
Almost sixty years of experience from constant R & D+I led us to become a world leader in systems for yarn break detection and yarn tension monitoring. Our technical progress gave us an upper hand against our competitors and a strong position in the global market. Thus, we became a global and trusted supplier. Our competitive advantages are gained through excellent customer service, efficiency and productivity, high adaptability, significant market share and strong, decisive leadership.
Sustainability in the textile industry has become a debated issue due to the nature of the industry and with the great efforts made by our R & D department, our products are environmentally friendly because it helps to reduce the waste of material. Manufacturers can minimize their environmental footprint by reducing production waste and machine downtime. This can be achieved by creating a quality product that generates less waste and uses resources more effectively.
The textile industry can take full advantage of the technologies of Eltex sensors in terms of revenues, growth, quality improvement, machine efficiency, less maintenance, less waste material and relief to the machine operator. Eltex Yarn Expert (EYE) is a flexible and versatile yarn detection system. The functions and features of the Control Units, sensors, and operator terminal are software controlled. Eltex technology is quality and sustainable and has a unique feature: To stop the machine before a fault in the material occurs.
We are looking forward to the ITMA exhibition in Milan June 2023 where our sales team will be happy to serve you. This time we have lots of news to share and on our demo machine we will be able to demonstrate our most prominent sensors and their functions. During 2023 we will also exhibit at Techtextil North America, Atlanta and ITMA+CITME in Shanghai and FSB in Cologne.
At ITMA 2023, meet us in Hall H6, Stand A210!
