Biswa Ranjan Das acquired his M.Tech in Textile Engineering, and PhD in Textile Technology from IIT, New Delhi. He is also pursuing his doctorate degree at Department of Textile Technology, Indian Institute of Technology Delhi, India. He has immense experience of lectureship in Textile Technology, and handling classes for B.Tech students in I.I.T. Currently, he is working as a scientist in Defense Research and Development Organization, Ministry of Defense, India.

Das has concentrated his efforts in the analysis of tensile failure mechanism of staple yarns & allied textile structures and 3D woven/knitted fabrics. He has widened his sphere of research to mathematical modeling and statistical analysis. He has already published several articles in Journal of Textile Institute, Indian Journal of Fibre & Textile Research and Textile Review.
