Dr. H. L. Vijaya Kumar

Dr. H. L. Vijaya kumar holds a Ph.D from Anna University, Chennai. He is the Principal at the Army Institute of Fashion & Design, Bangalore and is guiding 5 students for their doctoral degree. He has worked with many State and Central Government agencies for the development of textile sector. He has also worked in many University bodies, as a chairman, to frame the curriculum for textile & fashion courses. For 23 years he has worked at an Engineering Institute as a lecturer, Asst Professor, Professor and Head of textile department.

Dr. Vijaya kumar has organized more than 15 national & state level seminars and symposia’s. He has published more than 20 papers in national & international Journals and has undertaken many projects with National & International funding agencies and industries. He has traveled widely to understand the Sector. The student’s projects guided by him have bagged many national & state awards. Because of his contribution to the overall growth of the textile industry in India, the Indian society for Technical education New Delhi, presented the UP govt. with a National award during the year 2005. His area of interest is Knitting, particularly Silk and their blends.
