Μaria Gasouka has completed her PhD in Folklore and Gender. She is an assistant professor in the Department of Science Education and Educational Design in the Aegean University, in the field of “Gender and Folklore”. She is also a Member of the scientific group of design and implementation of the post-graduate studies program of the Aegean University’s “Gender and New Educational and Working Environment, in the Information Society”, offered through distance learning.
Maria Gasouka is the Chairwoman of the Scientific Committee of the Cypriot Equality Observatory. Along with being a researcher, trainer and coordinator of E.C., she is associated with Initiatives and Programmes in Mainstreaming and Equal Opportunity issues. She has published various editions like Sociological Approaches to Gender-Authority and Hierarchy Issues, Athens 1998, Women’s Speech Political, etc.
