Sumita Agrawal has been teaching in the Textile Design department at NIFT Gandhinagar for more than a decade. An economics graduate from Delhi University, she joined her creative calling at NIFT Delhi to pursue post-graduation in textile design and development in 2002. She guides students for design-development led by design thinking. She has mentored about 300 students for their craft research and product development related to textile crafts. She is pursuing her doctoral research in the area of home fashion textiles and their trends. Her interest areas include trend forecasting and surface design.
