Sweta Kumari is a design enthusiast, design thinker, academician, and a qualified accessory designer from NIFT Delhi. Her work in the past 20 years in the fashion industry includes designing for luxury fashion brands like ZARA, Mango, Bestsellers and HI design to name a few. She has been involved in academics with reputed institutions like Netaji Subhash University of Technology (under Delhi Govt), Kasturba Polytechnic for Women (DSEU), JD institute of Fashion and FDDI (under ministry of Commerce). She has augmented her skills further in Fashion Styling and Technical Design from FIT, New York. She has done specialisation in Design Thinking and UI/UX. She has published several papers in national and international conferences and journals.
She has a special interest in upgrading the Skills and Training in Traditional Arts/Crafts for Development and has been associated with Birmingham City University, UK for ‘India-UK Creative Industries at 75’ project. She participated in India Skills 2021 and LSSC 2001 as a jury. She was a member of the Diversity Group for the underprivileged.
As a design enthusiast and creative thinker, she is constantly seeking inspiration and exploring new design concepts. She believes in the power of design to positively impact the world and she is excited to see the bright future of sustainability in the design industry.
