PCE inflation in US expected to return to 2% by mid-2025: IMF

- The ongoing disinflation has taken a relatively light toll on the US economy and personal consumption expenditure inflation (2.7 per cent in April) is expected to return to 2 per cent by mid-2025, the IMF has said.
- The general US government fiscal deficit and debt, as a share of GDP, are projected to be well above pre-pandemic forecasts over the medium-term.
