Under Dodhia’s vice-chairmanship, the government awarded SRTEPC the responsibility of export promotion of technical textiles in September 2022, marking a major milestone for the council. Founded in 1954, the SRTEPC has primarily promoted the exports of manmade fibre textile products such as fibre, yarn, fabrics, and made-ups, the Dodhia Group said in a press release.
Additionally, Dodhia played a pivotal role in increasing the RODTEP rates for numerous MMF textile products from 0.7 per cent to 2.5 per cent, significantly bolstering the exports of MMF textiles.
On his ascension to chairmanship, Dodhia established product specific sub-committees for fibre, yarn, fabrics, made-ups, and technical textiles, comprising industry members with vast experience in their respective product categories. A sub-committee for accounts, finance, administration, and export awards was also constituted under his leadership. Bhadresh Dodhia also interacts extensively with various ministers, trade bodies, associations, etc.
