US footwear firm New Balance Athletics is moving forward with plans to open its sixth factory in Methuen, Massachusetts, in 2020. The factory will be the company’s first new manufacturing plant in two decades. The project is supported by the Economic Assistance Coordinating Council of Massachusetts, which has just approved $900,000 in state tax credits.
