Abraaj Group, a retail sector global investor has acquired a significant minority stake in Capa de Ozono, a Mexico based fashion footwear designer, distributor and retailer. Capa de Ozono, set up in 1992, operates 207 stores in more than 50 cities across Mexico and an ecommerce website, apart from distributing to more than 300 wholesalers.

Abraaj also plans to further strengthen the footwear retailer's environmental, social and governance record by improving energy efficiency throughout its distribution network, bolstering supply chain sustainability and enhancing corporate governance practices.
Abraaj currently has investments in Lasacorp, a Latin American leader in the women's accessories sector, D1, a Colombian discount retail store chain, and Hepsiburada, a Turkish online retailer. (AR)
