Category-wise, knitwear exports rose 10.40 per cent to $15.188 billion in the fiscal 2017-18, as against exports of $13.757 billion during the previous fiscal, as per the data. Germany was the largest importer accounting for $3.216 billion of all knitwear exported from Bangladesh, followed by the United Kingdom and the US with imports of goods valued at $1.897 billion and $1.374 billion, respectively.

Likewise, exports of woven apparel increased 7.18 per cent to $15.426 billion during the period under review, compared to exports of $14.392 billion during July-June 2016-17. The US was the largest importer with $3.977 billion worth of woven clothing supplied by Bangladesh. Germany and the United Kingdom procured woven apparel valued at $2.362 billion and $1.826 billion, respectively.
