Bangladesh is hopeful of receiving large-scale investment from Dubai in the near future in the special economic zones being set up in a planned manner, a recent seminar on ‘Invest in economic zones: opportunity beyond border’ organised by the Bangladesh Economic Zones Authority (BEZA) and the Bangladesh mission in the United Arab Emirates at the World Expo 2020 in Dubai was told.Expatriates Bangladeshis living in Dubai along with investors from India, China and the UAE took part in the seminar.
BEZA executive member Abdul Azim Chowdhury said his organisation has introduced a wholesale change in the pace of industrialisation in Bangladesh while working on setting up various special economic zones.
