On the sidelines of signing a protocol of cooperation between the Ready-Made Garments Chamber and Gahez Digital Marketing, Salam noted that this reflected positively on the national factories, which have started manufacturing high-quality men's and women's clothing and new designs.
Salam said Egypt now produces 80 per cent of the domestic market's RMG needs and imports the rest. Egypt's annual exports of garments is worth $1.5 billion.
Some 150 garment factories have qualified to raise production and boost exports, Salam added.
