Global apparel retailer UNIQLO announces that, for the first time, the number of UNIQLO stores worldwide will exceed 2,500 locations by September 13, 2024. After passing this milestone, this fall UNIQLO will further expand its global store network, opening more than 20 major stores in Europe, North America and Asia that serve as a showcase for LifeWear. In recent years, people around the world have increasingly embraced the brand's LifeWear concept of the ultimate everyday clothing, designed to make everyone's life better. By accelerating the opening of stores in Europe and North America, where its brand recognition and customer base are expanding, UNIQLO will further drive global business growth.

During fall 2024 in Europe, UNIQLO will continue to open stores in new cities and prime locations in major urban areas to strengthen branding for LifeWear. In addition to opening the first permanent store in Poland, UNIQLO will also open its first location in Rotterdam, the second largest city in the Netherlands. In Italy, the second UNIQLO store in Rome will open inside Rome Termini, one of Europe's leading railway stations, which will be the first train station store for the European business. In central London, UNIQLO will open a store in Coal Drops Yard, a large-scale redevelopment area around King's Cross and St Pancras stations. Six new stores will be opened in total, including second locations in Copenhagen in Denmark, and Amsterdam in the Netherlands.

In North America, UNIQLO will expand its store openings to new regions. The first store in the southern US state of Texas will open in October, with plans to open five stores across the state this fall alone, including in major cities such as Houston and Dallas. Further, UNIQLO will expand its store network with the opening of six new stores in California on the West Coast this year.

In Asia, UNIQLO will open South Korea's largest UNIQLO store in the heart of Seoul, which will introduce such services as UTme! and RE.UNIQLO to the market for the first time. In Thailand, the first new style roadside store outside Japan will open in Bangkok. As well as being storefronts, these new style roadside stores are also a way for UNIQLO to directly communicate its values to customers through location, design and services. In addition, in India, where UNIQLO opened its first store in 2019, new store locations are planned in some of the country's largest cities.

In Japan, UNIQLO plans to open five major stores, including UNIQLO Shinjuku HONTEN in central Shinjuku. In urban areas, building on inbound tourism, and in residential areas, UNIQLO plans to revamp its store network to enhance convenience and make shopping easier in areas near where customers live.

The upcoming store openings follow on from a host of new global stores in the spring of 2024, including UNIQLO's first stores in Rome, Italy, and Edinburgh, Scotland, as well as its first regional flagship store in Wuhan, China. UNIQLO will continue to strengthen its branding through stores in major regions and cities around the world.
