The UN Global Compact calls on companies around the world to align their operations and strategies with ten universally accepted principles in the areas of human rights, labour standards, the environment and anti-corruption, and to take action in support of the UN goals and issues embodied in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Launched in 2000, the UN Global Compact counts more than 15,000 companies and 3,000 non-business signatories based in over 160 countries, and more than 70 local networks, Prada said in a press release.
“By joining the UN Global Compact, the Prada Group strengthens its commitment to generate a more sustainable development, able to produce long-term value for the entire community in an effort to build the future we all want. Joining forces through synergies between players from different sectors, with shared and common objectives, is crucial to make a real change happen,” Lorenzo Bertelli, Prada Group head of corporate social responsibility, said.
