Thousands of manufacturers, retailers, designers and academics gathered at the two-day ‘Make it British Live!’ event in London on 29-30 May to showcase the creativity and diversity of UK manufacturing. The event included a trade show and a conference focussed on technology, ethics and sustainability. Improving communication with customers was another theme.
Visitors to the show heard from branding guru Simon Middleton. Key participants included Henrietta Adams, who creates her own women’s clothing Henri London; Tom Glover, managing director of Peregrine; Diana Kakkar, founder of garment manufacturer MAES London; Adam Robertson, managing director of Kalopsia Collective; David Williams, managing director of Knit Design Centre/Stoll GB; Stephen Russell, director at the Future Fashion Factory; Kate Dawson, owner and director at the All-in-one Company; and Ed Oxley and Brant Richards, co-founders of HebTroCo.
