For the three months ended December 31, 2016, revenue at protective apparel and gear marketer Under Armour, climbed 12 per cent year over year to $1.3 billion, helped by a 5 per cent rise in wholesale revenues and a 23 per cent surge in direct to consumer revenues. Global sales which account for 16 per cent of total revenues were up 55 per cent in the quarter.

Selling, general and administrative expenses in the fourth quarter of 2016 grew 9 percent to $420 million, or 32.1 percent of sales.
Operating income in the period under review dropped 6 per cent from a year ago quarter to $167 million, while net income fell 1 per cent to $105 million. (AR)
