The Karnataka government will assist Sutlej Textiles Ltd in setting up a unit in Chamarajanagar district at a cost of ₹786 crore, according to state heavy industries minister KJ George. The unit will be set up at Badanaguppe and Kallambahalli villages of the district, 180 km southwest of Bengaluru. Sutlej will manufacture sportswear offering jobs to 1,800.
The minister said 94 projects with a combined investment of ₹162 crore have been approved in the southwest district to enable its development and create jobs, a news agency quoted the minister as saying recently. (DS)
