The Taiwan Textile Federation (TTF) recently claimed it has transformed Taiwan from a surgical mask importing country to the second-largest surgical mask manufacturer in the world with a daily production capacity of 15 million units. It has formed a complete surgical mask supply chain by integrating upstream, mid-stream and downstream textile industries.
The federation took the help of textile manufacturers like the Formosa Plastic Group, the Formosa Chemicals & Fibre Corporation, the Far Eastern New Century Corporation, KNH Enterprise Co., Ltd., China Surgical Dressings Center Co., Ltd. and Chang Hong Machinery Co., Ltd.The Taiwan Textile Federation (TTF) recently claimed it has transformed Taiwan from a surgical mask importing country to the second-largest surgical mask manufacturer in the world with a daily production capacity of 15 million units. Between March to April, over a million units of isolation gowns and a lakh units of protective suits were manufactured, according to a TTF press release.
Thanks to the joint efforts of the Taiwan's textile industry and the government, Taiwan's performance on epidemic prevention has been recognized internationally. Taiwan is contributing its experience and capabilities, fulfill its international responsibilities, and actively strengthen anti-epidemic cooperation with other countries.
Taiwan has donated 15 million surgical masks to support medical personnel in countries facing severe COVID-19 outbreak and will continue to provide support to the international community, TTF said.
Under the Taiwan-US epidemic prevention cooperation framework and in the spirit of ‘Taiwan can help!’, the country has donated 2 million surgical masks to the United States and will continue to help strengthening protection for frontline medical personnel by providing one lakh surgical masks every week.
