In February 2023, the exports noticed a sharp decline of 10.04 per cent to come down to $1,487.134 million.
Category-wise, exports of knitted and crocheted clothing and accessories (HS chapter 61) earned $1.623 billion in January-February 2023, registering a fall of 6.5 per cent over $1.735 billion earned during the same months of the previous year. Exports of non-knitted apparel and accessories (HS chapter 62) were valued at $1.399 billion, showing an increase of 5 per cent compared to $1.333 billion exports in January-February 2022.
In February 2023, the latest month for which the data is available, Turkiye’s total exports of knitted and non-knitted clothing and accessories eased 10.04 per cent to $1.487 billion in February 2023 against $1.653 billion of February 2022. The exports of knitted and crocheted clothing and accessories eased 14.2 per cent to $789.969 million in February 2023 against the exports of $920-950 million in corresponding period of last year.
The shipment of non-knitted apparel and accessories (HS chapter 62) also noticed a negative growth of 4.8 per cent in the month of February. It came down from $732.696 million in February 2022 to $697.165 million in February 2023.
Turkiye’s apparel exports had increased by 6.46 per cent to $19.475 billion in 2022 compared to the shipment of $18.294 billion during 2021.
