Exports of knitted and crocheted clothing and accessories (HS Chapter 61) decreased by 3.4 per cent, reaching $6,637.166 million, compared to $6,872.454 million in January-August 2023. Non-knitted apparel and accessories (HS Chapter 62) saw a 9.5 per cent drop, falling to $5,099.698 million from $5,636.283 million during the same period last year, according to the trade report of the top twenty chapters.
In August 2024, Turkiye’s garment exports increased by 3.19 per cent to $1,615.565 million. Exports of knitted and crocheted clothing and accessories rose by 4.2 per cent to $945.011 million, up from $907.160 million in August 2023. Non-knitted apparel and accessories also grew by 1.8 per cent, rising from $670.225 million in August 2023 to $658.405 million in August 2024.
No textile product appeared in the top 20 chapters of products imported by the country.
In 2023, Turkiye’s apparel exports declined by 5.86 per cent to $18.321 billion, down from $19.463 billion in 2022, following $18.294 billion in 2021.
