Turkiye’s consumer price index (CPI) in February rose by 4.81 per cent over the January level and by 54.44 per cent over the level during the same month last year, according to the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat). It rose by 16.45 per cent over December 2021 level by 25.98 per cent in that month on the twelve months moving averages basis.Clothing and footwear with 26.87 per cent was among the main groups where low YoY increases were witnessed. The sector MoM rise was also low—0.3 per cent.
The country’s annual inflation rate in February is estimated to have increased to 4.14 per cent, according to a survey by a news agency. A group of 23 economists polled forecast that monthly inflation for February averaged at 4.14 per cent, ranging between 3.09 per cent and 7.5 per cent.
