Uniqlo first supported the team at the 2022 Beijing Games, where it won medals across all events, including men's gold, women's bronze, and mixed doubles silver. The new agreement came about because of the Swedish Curling Association's high regard for Uniqlo apparel, with exceptional quality and innovation to help athletes perform at their best. Another draw is the LifeWear ethos of making everyone's life better.
This marks the second time Uniqlo has concluded an official supplier agreement with a national sports team from Sweden, the first being with the Swedish Ski Association for its mogul team. Through these partnerships, Uniqlo develops its LifeWear for customers everywhere, innovating for better, more comfortable living through the insights of world-class athletes.
"We are honoured that Sweden's national curling team was satisfied with our apparel at the Beijing Games, and to conclude this official supplier agreement. Curling is fun for people of all ages, and we aim to leverage our partnership to promote curling and LifeWear to people everywhere. We also look forward to Sweden's national curling team collaborating on our Uniqlo Dream project, an initiative to inspire children and youth to discover a love of sport,” Koji Yanai, group senior executive officer at Fast Retailing, said.
"This is the first time Swedish Curling has a holistic partnership regarding uniforms - something that we have wished for a long time. Uniqlo has a stellar reputation among athletes, so we are very grateful to Uniqlo for providing us with uniforms. We look to draw on Uniqlo’s strong support to deliver world-class performances and highlight the enjoyment of curling to people the world over,” Michael Marklund, president of the Swedish Curling Association, said.
