Under Armour’s innovation and design teams are already hard at work finalising new football uniforms for the Fighting Irish that are unique to the collegiate landscape and feature first-of-their-kind embellishment and trim innovations, the brand said in a press release.
“At Under Armour, we love athletes and partnering with Notre Dame is a tremendous point of pride for our brand. As an original innovator in performance apparel, it’s an incredible honour to watch our gear support these athletes in every phase of their journey, from the field to the classroom, to national championships and beyond,” said Kevin Plank, executive chair and brand chief for Under Armour.
The next chapter of Under Armour and Notre Dame’s partnership will focus on deepening brand alignment through student-athlete engagement. By facilitating opportunities for student athletes to have hands-on involvement in Under Armour’s innovation and design processes, the company will create personalised product solutions and grow brand love while exposing students to various business functions within the apparel, footwear, and accessories industry.
“For the past eight years our commitment to excellence and Under Armour’s tradition of innovative performance wear have combined to produce a period of unrivalled competitive success for Notre Dame athletics. We look forward to the next decade of success working alongside our teammates at Under Armour, while also opening up new opportunities to help our student-athletes perform at the top of their game both on and off the field,” said Jack Swarbrick, Notre Dame University vice president and James E Rohr director of athletics.
