The Gap, a US-based global fashion giant, has been honoured with the 2023 People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) Fashion Award for overall most vegan-friendly company, distinguishing itself in the realm of stylish vegan clothing. The brand, known for its iconic style, now boasts a nearly entirely vegan inventory. This includes high-quality items from its Vegan-Leather Shop, animal-friendly cashmere products from its CashSoft Shop, and its popular, down-free Big Puff line featuring a classic coat, cropped jacket, and vest.In a notable turnaround, Canada Goose, once criticised by PETA, has now emerged as a leader in vegan fashion. The company received the 2023 PETA Fashion Award for coolest warmest down-free fashion for its Carlyle Quilted Shirt Jacket, made with Tencel insulation, a biodegradable fibre known for its softness, PETA said in a press release.
American firm Gap won the 2023 PETA Fashion Award for being the most vegan-friendly company, with an almost entirely vegan range including its Vegan-Leather and CashSoft shops.
Canada Goose also received an award for its vegan Carlyle Quilted Shirt Jacket.
Other winners include Versace, Max Mara, and Gucci for their vegan fashion products.
Other recipients of the 2023 PETA Fashion Awards include Versace for hottest vegan leather product, Max Mara for best vegan suede staple, and Gucci for best luxury product.
