India’s annual consumer price index (CPI)-based inflation rate was 4.83 per cent in April compared to the same month last year, according to provisional data released by the ministry of statistics and programme implementation.Corresponding inflation rates for rural and urban areas were 5.43 per cent and 4.11 per cent respectively.
Among the top five groups, the year-on-year (YoY) inflation on groups clothing and footwear, housing and fuel and light decreased since last month.
