The virtual conference will bring together global corporate leaders and experts from the textile-apparel-fashion industry on a single platform, to share their knowledge, ideas and insights on illustrative themes like: Efforts towards responsible sourcing and material innovation; Reducing emissions footprint from manufacturing; Government policies to scale sustainability efforts; and Certifications, standards, and compliances.
Frederic Van Houte, director general of CIRFS, the European Man-made Fibres Association, and Friedrich Weninger, managing director of the Austrian Fibers Institute (AIF), which organises the world-famous annual Dornbirn GFC Global Fiber Congress, will speak at the Summit on ‘Industry movers: Associations leading the sustainable change’.
Jaki Love, director of Innovation and Sustainability at the UKFT, has agreed to speak on ‘Technology in fashion: Developments in transparency & traceability’. Jean Hegedus, sustainability director for The LYCRA Company, will speak on ‘Waste to value: Trends in textile waste recycling and circularity’.
With the experience of successfully bringing out five editions of its Sustainability Compendium for the textile-apparel industry, Fibre2Fashion this year is organising its first ever Sustainability Conclave, a virtual event to bring all stakeholders together on a single forum.
