Tanatex Chemicals and other major industry players have recently asked Zero Discharge of Hazardous Chemicals Foundation (ZDHC), which works on implementation of sustainable chemistry and best practices in the textile, leather and footwear industries, to formulate a global industry standard, according to Ged Doyle, director, global brand and retail, of Tanatex.

The company has developed chemicals that can be added to the baths or even reduce the amount of baths during the textile industry processes. There is also a continuous focus on greener alternatives like mineral technology and clay-based products, like water-based auxiliaries, he said. (DS)
