The Bangladesh government will next month introduce unique business identification (UBID), which will be mandatory for all e-commerce entities operating in the country. A central complaint management system (CCMS) and a digital interoperable transaction platform called 'Binimoy' will also be introduced in February and March respectively to help ensure discipline in the e-commerce sector.These were discussed at a meeting between the ministry of commerce and the information and communication technology (ICT) division officials to analyse the progress of various platforms to facilitate and ensure transparency in e-commerce operations.
ICT state minister Zunaid Ahmed Palak said all digital commerce operators in the country must register themselves with the government using UBID.

The grievances filed by consumers against any registered business will be settled through CCMS, and a central logistics tracking platform (CLTP) will be launched later, according to Bangla media reports.
