Several global retailers, including Lotte and Shinsegae, have joined the fray to potentially acquire eBay Korea, which has been offered for sale. Morgan Stanley and Goldman Sachs are reportedly overseeing eBay Korea’s sale and have sent out information memorandum (IM) to potential buyers before a preliminary bidding takes place on March 16.

However, the participation of the Lotte Group and the Shinsegae Group in the preliminary bidding process is not certain.

About ten potential buyers like MBK Partners, Kakao and Qoo10 have received memoranda from Morgan Stanley and Goldman Sachs, according to South Korean media reports.

Hyundai Department Store Group, said to be a potential candidate, withdrew itself from the list.
