Thai Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha and China’s President Xi Jinping agreed to strengthen bilateral ties in security, trade and sustainability during talks in Bangkok recently. Both sides signed memoranda of understanding (MoUs) on cooperation in e-commerce, strategic issues, academia, science, technology and the Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road.

Both the leaders also agreed to promote connectivity, especially via rail freight, Thai media reported.

China is hopeful of seeing connectivity in infrastructure, logistics and customs to expand the export of Thai agricultural products, a Thai government spokesperson said.
