E-com logistics index in China hits new high in May: Industry data

The e-commerce logistics index in China increased for the fifth consecutive month in May this year, reaching a new high of 109.5 points since 2022, according to a survey jointly conducted by the China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing and the e-commerce company JD.com.

The May figure was a 0.5-point rise over the April figure.

Eight out of the nine major sub-indices measuring e-commerce logistics activities in different fields rose last month. The sector recorded steady growth on both the demand and supply sides.

The index for e-commerce logistics business volume rose by 1.5 points month on month, while that for rural business volume increased by 4.6 points from the previous month, a state-controlled news agency reported.

The survey projected stable growth for e-commerce logistics activities in June.
