Insights

  • CottonWorks expanded its Fabricast library with 51 new cotton-rich fabrics, enhancing options for brands and designers.
  • These additions include unique yarns, weaving and knitting techniques, and advanced dyeing and finishing methods.
  • Featured fabrics like the Single-Knit Jacquard and Dotted Stripe Knit combine aesthetic appeal with functional technology.
This month, 51 new fabrics were added to the CottonWorks Fabricast library, a digital collection of cotton and cotton-rich fabrics carefully curated by Cotton Incorporated’s product development team to help brands get the most out of cotton.

New additions are added several times per year to provide seasonal ideas and inspiration for design and fabric manufacturers, CottonWorks said in a press release.

Each new release features fresh and interesting yarns, unique weaving and knitting constructions, new dyeing and finishing techniques, and fabric performance technologies that can elevate apparel and home textile designs.

Single-Knit Jacquard Sinker Loop Terry (SK-2206-2): This textural knit integrates cationic cotton yarns in the construction for flexibility in colour effects. By using both cationised and conventional cotton in the same fabric, colour, and white effects are made possible. The geometric interplay with loop structures creates interesting movement of pattern and colour.

Dotted Stripe Knit Mini-Ottoman (DK-2854-2): Finished with Storm Cotton technology to resist moisture, this performance fabric is ideal for lightweight athleisure jackets and pullovers. This mini jacquard double-knit construction has also been brushed on the back for added softness and warmth, while the dotted and dashed pattern and ribbed texture provide visual interest.

Right Hand Twill (7346-2): Also a performance fabric, this twill is a bottom-weight, durable woven that features Wicking Windows technology for moisture management. It is screen printed with a unique star pattern on the back for transport of moisture away from the wearer, and the olive-green colour creates versatility across all apparel markets.
