Blumarine, a renowned Italian fashion house, has announced the appointment of Georgian-born designer David Koma as its new creative director. Koma succeeds Walter Chiapponi, who departed the role after just one season.
Koma, celebrated for his distinctive red-carpet designs, will unveil his inaugural collection for Blumarine with the pre-fall 2025 season.
Since launching his self-titled fashion label in London in 2009, Koma has garnered a strong following and established a prestigious clientele.
“David Koma’s aesthetic captured me from the beginning. I am sure that David will be able to interpret Blumarine’s codes to perfection, thanks to his vision and stylistic sensitivity, characterized by an overwhelming femininity,” Marco Marchi, sole director of Exelite, the holding company of Blumarine said in a statement.
