Pantone, the global authority on colour and provider of professional colour standards for design industries, has announced the Pantone Fashion Colour Trend Report Spring/Summer 2022 edition for New York Fashion Week (NYFW). This season’s report features the top ten standout colours, as well as current takes on the four core classics we can expect to see.

According to Pantone Color Institute experts, colours for Spring/Summer 2022 New York reflect our aspiration for balance as we move through a changing landscape. Colours that evince the need for comfort, clarity and security, satisfy the urge to stay with the familiar. At the same time, free-spirited optimism, and a feeling of new liberation, are unleashed in dynamic, stand-out shades, quenching the desire for spontaneity, uplift and joy, Pantone said on its website.

The Spring/Summer 2022 NYFW colour palette features diverse and distinctive colours that come together to blend comfort and familiarity with unexpected delight. The colours include Pantone 12-4401 Spun Sugar, Pantone 13-1513 Gossamer Pink, Pantone 18-2042 Innuendo, Pantone 19-4151 Skydiver, Pantone 14-0850 Daffodil, Pantone 16-4118 Glacier Lake, Pantone 18-4728 Harbor Blue, Pantone 18-1019 Coca Mocha, Pantone 18-3324 Dahlia and Pantone 18-1564 Poinciana.

The Spring/Summer 2022 Core Classics colours are seasonless hues whose versatility express longevity. They include Pantone 11-0602 Snow White, Pantone 13-0003 Perfectly Pale, Pantone 16-6216 Basil, Pantone 14-4104 Northern Droplet and Pantone 18-4004 Poppy Seed.

“Colours for Spring 2022 bring together our competing desires for comforting familiarity and joyful adventure through a range of soothing and timeless colours, along with joyous hues that celebrate playfulness. As we enter this new landscape, one where fashion rules no longer apply, hues for Spring 2022 allow us to mix and marry as we please, encouraging the exploration of new chromatic realities, opening the door for personalised style and spontaneous colour statements,” said Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute.
