Employees unions, however, have reportedly accused the brand of not citing the economic or any other motivational reasons behind the shift. Unions have been asking for the industrial plan to justify moving a storied Florence brand out of its territory.
Unions are worried about the economic impact of moving the brand’s production away from Florence on the region. In 2016, the company had originally planned to close its Milan production offices and move production to the Tuscan headquarters, but that has now been reversed.
The fashion house will reportedly continue to thrive in the luxury market and maintain its domestic hold in Italy as well.
