New product line + USP: Tata Group firm Titan Co Ltd has expanded itself into premium saris and women's indutvas or ethnicwear category under the brand name 'Taneira' in Bangalore.
The store has a collection of handwoven saris and ethnicwear from over 20 states in India.
Price point: Rs 2,000-2,50,000
Existing product portfolio: Titan currently has its presence in watches and accessories, jewellery, eyewear and fragrances categories.
Sourcing: Taneira has tied up with about 200 supply sources to source the products from 20 different clusters across the country. It is working closely with weaving communities, weaving societies, weavers, intermediaries, master weavers and designers.
Future plans: Taneira is Titan’s first pilot store and the company plans to take 12-15 months to explore a few pilot stores before opening any more.
About Titan: Titan is one of India's largest and best-known brand for personal accessories — watches, jewellery, sunglasses and prescription eyewear. In 2013, Titan entered the fragrances segment with Skinn. In the latter part of the year, the company ventured into the helmets category under its Fastrack brand.
