The running footwear collection features four unique silhouettes—the Y-3 Boston 11, the Y-3 Takumi Sen 9, the Y-3 Ultraboost Light, and the Y-3 Runner 4D FWD—each with brushstroke Three Stripes and Yohji Yamamoto signature details, Adidas said in a press release.
“The sports world and its technology seek for necessity, practicality, or functionality while fashion is seeking the opposite [...] Y-3 is a strong examination of the blend of sport and style and the tension caused by mixing tradition with all that is modern,” explained Yohji.
Accompanying the launch of the collection is a set of moving visuals, shot across upstate and urban New York, which capture the raw emotions of running through intimate vignettes that offer a glimpse into in-between moments of pause, added the release.
The inaugural Y-3 running footwear collection is available globally on Adidas’ online platform and through select retailers.
