Uniqlo has collaborated with the Fashion Institute of Technology’s (FIT) Design and Tech (DTech) Lab to create the RE.Uniqlo X FIT collection.

Three fashion design students, Sam Cho, Bridgette Schaeffer, and Nuo Cheng, have collaboratively crafted the 11-piece collection. In parallel, advertising and digital design students MJ (Minjeong) Park and Andrew Grechko partnered with RE.Uniqlo to develop the RE.LIVE campaign and website aimed at promoting this innovative collection, the company said in a press release.

“My love for fashion is deeply intertwined with my commitment to sustainability. I believe the power of design transcends surface level beauty and can influence great change within the minds of its audience. I work to discover and carry out sustainable innovations in my garments. This current generation of designers are more conscious; we know our decisions have an impact on the environment. I believe the fashion industry should be held to a higher standard than what they are held to now,” said Schaeffer.

An extension of FIT’s innovation centre, the DTech Lab is FIT’s on-campus innovation lab developed with the promise of revolutionising both the creative and retail industries, DTech unites design thinking with emerging technologies.
