The schedule features both menswear and womenswear designers, with highlights including British luxury brand Burberry, as well as ASAI, Dilara Findikoglu, ERDEM, Eudon Choi, Fashion East, JW Anderson, KNWLS, palmer//harding, Phoebe English, Richard Quinn, Roksanda, and Simone Rocha, the BFC said in a press release.
New entries this season are Eirinn Hayhow, Holzweiler, PIFERI (BFC Fashion Trust 2023 recipient), Spencer Badu, and SRVC. The final physical and digital schedule will be released in August 2023 and will include further updates and specific information regarding the format and timings of each activation.
LFW September 2023 will continue the year-long celebrations of the 30th anniversary of the BFC NewGen showcasing initiative by highlighting the scheme’s history and alumni, and London’s legacy in nurturing emerging talent and the next generation of visionary creatives.
To coincide with LFW September 2023, the landmark exhibition, Rebel: 30 Years of London Fashion, which is sponsored by Alexander McQueen and guest curated by Sarah Mower, BFC Ambassador for Emerging Talent, will open from September 16, 2023–February 11, 2024 at the Design Museum in London. It will be one of the most compelling contemporary fashion exhibitions ever staged in the UK, acknowledging the work of over 300 designers, and featuring over 100 objects.
BFC NewGen designers returning to the schedule include Ancuta Sarca, Chet Lo, Conner Ives, Di Petsa, Feben, Harri, Helen Kirkum, Labrum London (Queen Elizabeth II Award for British Design 2023 recipient), Leo Carlton, Masha Popova, Paolo Carzana, Sinead O’Dwyer, S.S.DALEY, Stefan Cooke, and Yuhan Wang. BFC NewGen designers Aaron Esh, Derrick, Kazna Asker, The Winter House, and Tolu Coker will be welcomed for the first time.
LFW and Ukrainian Fashion Week will present three Ukrainian designers—Gasanova, My Sleeping Gypsy, and Nadya Dyzyak as part of ‘Support Ukrainian Fashion’. This initiative was launched by Ukrainian Fashion Week to support designers in Ukraine. The show will be an opportunity to showcase the diversity, creativity, and talent of Ukraine’s fashion scene, and the courage, resilience, and resistance of Ukrainian designers striving for a peaceful future, added the release.
Accreditation for LFW September 2023 is now open. Accreditation is reserved for fashion industry professionals attending the event in a work capacity—such as press, buyers, influencers, stylists, photographers, broadcasters, and sales agents.
Returning this season is the LFW City Wide Celebration, a programme of events and activations open to the public over LFW.
