The installations are inspired by four cities, including HK, Shanghai, Seoul and Paris. Every exhibit reinterprets the contrasts between the cultural identities of these cities and the work itself. Besides physical exhibits, a curation of virtual images are in store to guide visitors through a synchronised VR fashion experience.
Visitors can order online at the pop-up shop to experience how the exhibition and online shopping are seamlessly merged. Juxtaposed 2022 Fashion Meta also taps into the latest encryption technology and works with Artify and Boax to launch first Hong Kong designers' NFT fashion collection. Work by 12 local fashion designers will march into the global virtual market, seamlessly bringing together reality and virtuality.
The event uses patented technology to host the city's first 360-degree virtual fashion show at the exhibition venue. The guests will immerse themselves between the actual exhibits and a virtual universe. Visitors will have their virtual avatars generated in real-time to 'try on' the wearable art pieces by various designers in the imaginative realm of JuxtaVerse.
The opening ceremony was held on June 9, where Young Talent Awards were presented to the two young fashion designers Tiger Chung and Alex Tse. The event is sponsored by Create HK.
